Women-Only Motorcycle Adventure Heads to Royal Rajasthan

Seventeen days, 2,040 kilometres and a journey through India’s desert cities, historic palaces and spectacular countryside. A new women-only motorcycle tour promises plenty beyond the riding.

  • Women-only Royal Rajasthan tour runs 11–27 March 2027.
  • Seventeen days and around 2,040km on Royal Enfield Himalayans.
  • Riders, pillions and non-riding passengers can join, with local support crew and luggage transport.

India is one of those countries that seems almost purpose-built for a motorcycle adventure. Incredible scenery, fascinating culture, chaotic roads and experiences that tend to stay with you long after you’ve returned home. And while the Himalayas tend to grab most of the attention when it comes to riding in India, there’s another region offering a very different experience: Rajasthan.

Safaris for the Soul has announced a new women-only tour through India’s largest state, taking in desert cities, palaces, historic forts, colourful markets and the Taj Mahal. Running from 11–27 March 2027, the Royal Rajasthan adventure covers approximately 2,040 kilometres over 17 days, with participants riding Royal Enfield Himalayans.

We’ve been there, done that

Tour organiser Denise Dyer is no stranger to leading motorcycle adventures for women, with Safaris for the Soul running international tours since 2005. BRM’s own Kerry Lance joined Denise on a previous women-only trip into the Himalayas, riding Royal Enfields over challenging mountain roads to a route described at the time as the highest motorable road in the world.

Kerry returned with terrific memories and a real appreciation for the camaraderie and support throughout the journey. Read Kerry’s Himalayan adventure.

Rajasthan promises something rather different. The emphasis is as much on the culture and places visited as the riding itself.

A different side of India

Starting in Delhi, the group heads west through Shekhawati and the Great Thar Desert to Jaisalmer, the Golden City. From there the route continues to Jodhpur, Deogarh and lakeside Udaipur, then through Pushkar and Jaipur before finishing in Agra, home of the Taj Mahal.

Along the way are desert excursions, ancient forts, village visits and stays in heritage accommodation. In Deogarh, the itinerary includes a 17th-century palace and a cooking demonstration; in Jaipur, there’s a traditional block-printing workshop. It’s the sort of detail that makes the journey more than a sequence of stops on a map.

More than just motorcycles

Holi celebrations in Pushkar are confirmed for the tour, adding a burst of colour to the journey. Other experiences include a boat cruise on Lake Pichola and time to explore the towns and markets along the route.

There’s still plenty of riding, through desert landscapes, villages, hill country and busy Indian towns. Denise describes it as less technically demanding than the Himalayan adventures, with a focus on taking time to enjoy the journey.

You don’t even have to ride

Although the Royal Enfield Himalayan is the motorcycle of choice, the trip is also open to pillions and non-riding women travelling in the support vehicle. Denise leads the tour alongside local guides, mechanics and a driver, with support vehicles carrying luggage.

Having heard Kerry’s stories from the Himalayas, we know just how valuable a good support crew can be when travelling by motorcycle in India.

Rajasthan awaits

For women who fancy an Indian motorcycle adventure without making high-altitude mountain passes the main event, Rajasthan offers an appealing alternative. Safaris for the Soul says a handful of places remain for the March 2027 departure.

The tour is priced at US$7,995 per rider and US$7,495 per pillion. For the full itinerary, inclusions and booking details, visit Safaris for the Soul’s Royal Rajasthan tour page.
