We got an early look at the latest motorcycle gear heading into Kiwi dealers for summer. Here are seven products that caught our attention.
With riding season upon us, BRM was invited along to one of NZ’s biggest motorcycle clothing and accessories distributors, Whites Powersports, to check out some of the new and exciting products heading into stores for summer.
With displays packed with gear from Shoei, Sena, LS2, Richa, Leatt and the new LS2 Apparel range, sending the BRM team into the Whites showroom – tucked away in the inner sanctum of the company’s impressive new facility – was a bit like sending kids into a candy store.
There was far too much new gear for us to cover everything, so we picked out a few of our favourites and some of the products we reckon Kiwi motorcyclists will be pumped to see arriving in dealers for the 2026/27 riding season.
New season, new gear
If the sun shining, the days getting longer and the road calling gets you thinking about new gear – and, to be honest, what biker isn’t always thinking about new gear? – then it might be time to get down to your local dealer and get yourself sorted for summer.
With motorcycle gear getting more technically advanced each year, it was great to head along to the Whites Powersports head office, where Product Manager Hayden Mills ran us through what’s coming to NZ and what’s worth getting excited about. Here are some of our picks.

LS2 Storm III
You only need to hang out with a group of motorcyclists to see just how popular LS2 helmets have become in recent times. Developed in Spain, the brand has carved out a strong position by offering plenty of the design, technology and features you’d expect from more expensive helmets while keeping pricing well out of premium territory.
The new Storm III is a prime example. A touring/urban helmet aimed at everything from city streets to longer highway rides, it uses LS2’s KPA shell and comes with a Pinlock 70 MaxVision anti-fog system, drop-down sun visor and a large upper air intake for ventilation.

Richa Orion GTX Jacket
There is some seriously nice gear coming through from Richa this season. Paul has been running a Richa jacket for a number of seasons now and, despite plenty of use, it’s still looking remarkably fresh.
Richa isn’t chasing the bargain end of the market, and the Orion GTX certainly isn’t cheap at $1299.99. But the excellent fit, feel, quality and protection are evident as soon as you lift one off the rack. The Orion GTX uses a Gore-Tex outer for wet-weather protection, backed up by a removable thermal liner and adjustable ventilation to make it usable across a wide range of conditions, while D3O protection takes care of the safety side.

Oxford Tailor AA Jeans
Don’t just stick on a regular pair of denims and assume they’ll protect you on a motorcycle – ordinary jeans can offer very little abrasion protection in a crash. Proper riding jeans have come a long way, though, and Oxford’s new Tailor is a good example.
They’re CE EN17092 AA rated and use Oxford’s sustainable ARMOURLITE denim with DYNAMIC 2.0 impact protectors. But one of the features that really caught our attention was much simpler: the knee armour is accessed from the outside. That means you can easily position the protectors where they’re actually supposed to sit rather than discovering halfway through a ride that they’re protecting your shins.
The denim also has plenty of stretch and a water-repellent treatment to help shrug off a passing shower. Motorcycle jeans that look and feel like normal jeans while offering proper protection? See, we said motorcycle gear was getting super-techy!

Oxford Mondial 2.0 Jacket
The original Mondial jacket was popular with Kiwi bikers and now it’s been given an upgrade. It still features Oxford’s laminated Dry2Dry™ membrane, which not only makes it waterproof and breathable but also helps keep the jacket light and comfortable.
There are now CE Level 2 protectors with increased adjustability. They’re supple enough to conform to the wearer’s body but designed to harden upon impact for increased protection. And there’s genuine all-year versatility, with a removable thermal liner and large vents front and rear, complete with water-resistant zippers. Richa Toulon 2 Jacket
We love the look of this jacket and it’s certainly going to look good on you this summer. Designed with that classic vintage biker style, though, the Toulon 2 isn’t just about appearances.
The wear-resistant cowhide outer provides abrasion resistance should things go wrong, while D3O CE Level 1 protectors take care of impact protection. There’s also a removable thermal liner for cooler days and, while the hood certainly looks the part, it can be removed if you’re planning on spending much time at hood-flapping speeds.
Available in both men’s and women’s sizes, it’s a stylish alternative for riders who don’t necessarily want to look like they’ve just stepped out of a MotoGP paddock every time they get off the bike.

Richa Taurus Jacket
Want a jacket that isn’t black? Yeah, us too! The Richa Taurus stood out to us not just because it comes in a classy shade of blue that would look great on anything from a modern classic to an adventure bike, but because it’s also seriously affordable.
For $499.99 you get a CE AA-rated textile jacket complete with a waterproof and breathable membrane, Ripstop reinforcement and D3O protectors. It looks considerably more premium than the price tag suggests. We reckon it’s a bargain.

Leatt Rain Cover Pant
Yeah, it might look dry when you head out, but there’s nothing worse than being caught in the rain wearing riding jeans that aren’t waterproof. These Leatt rain pants caught our eye because they pack down small enough to stash on the bike and pull out when you spot dark clouds ahead.
They’ve also got the sort of practical features that matter when you’re trying to get waterproofs on at the side of the road: wide legs, adjustable straps and an inner liner that helps stop them sticking as you pull them over your riding gear. It’s one of those garments you might not think much about until the day you really need it – and then you’ll be very glad it’s there.

These were just some of the products that caught our attention during the Whites Powersports roadshow.
