Suzuki is celebrating its 50th anniversary with special-edition versions of the GSX-8S and GSX-S1000 in Germany. Both motorcycles receive dedicated decal kits, while each edition will be limited to just 50 units.
The GSX-8S Special Edition gets a distinctive decal treatment along with a pillion seat cover and front spoiler as part of its accessory package. The GSX-S1000 follows a similar styling theme, adding a matching decal kit, pillion cover, windscreen and trims for the front and rear wheels.
There are no mechanical changes to either motorcycle. The GSX-8S continues to use its 776cc parallel-twin engine, producing 82bhp and 77Nm of torque. Its equipment package includes a bidirectional quickshifter, three riding modes, three-stage and switchable traction control, ride-by-wire, low-RPM assist and a 5-inch colour TFT display.
The larger GSX-S1000 retains its 999cc inline-four engine, which produces 150bhp and 105Nm of torque. Its braking hardware consists of twin 310mm front discs with radially mounted four-piston Brembo callipers, while suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable 43mm KYB upside-down forks.
At the rear, the GSX-S1000 uses a central shock with seven-way adjustable spring preload and variable rebound adjustment. The electronics package includes three riding modes, traction control, ride-by-wire and a bidirectional quickshifter. With production capped at 50 units of each model, the anniversary editions primarily distinguish themselves through their dedicated styling and additional equipment rather than mechanical upgrades.
