BMW Motorrad has revealed a special R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike that will be used by riders competing in the 2026 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy in Romania.
Based on the recently launched R12 G/S, the competition-ready machine has been developed specifically for the off-road event, although customers will also be able to configure a near-identical version through BMW’s options catalogue. The only notable differences between the factory competition bikes and customer versions are the event-specific decals.

Powering the R12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike is an air/oil-cooled 1,170cc boxer twin that produces 107.5bhp at 7,000rpm and 115Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The motorcycle is equipped with the Comfort Package, which includes Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips and cruise control.
To better suit the demands of the GS Trophy, BMW has also fitted the bike with the Enduro Package Pro. This adds off-road tyres, an 18-inch rear wheel, handlebar risers and additional riding modes. Other accessories include engine protection bars, cylinder head covers, a Rally cockpit fairing, an Akrapovič silencer and a five-litre tank bag. The competition bike is finished in ‘Lightwhite uni’ paint scheme with red graphics on the fuel tank, a bright red seat and an integrated navigation system.

The 2026 BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will take place in Romania from September 13 to 18, where competitors will tackle a variety of terrain including mountain roads, forests, river crossings and small villages.
