National fundraising ride aims to build on last year’s $160,000 effort for The Salvation Army
Harley-Davidson has confirmed the return of its United We Ride charity fundraiser for 2026, with riders across New Zealand and Australia set to hit the road on September 12 in support of The Salvation Army.
Now entering its second year, the event encourages riders of all brands and experience levels to participate in coordinated rides departing from Harley-Davidson dealerships across both countries. The initiative combines a shared passion for motorcycling with fundraising for frontline community services.

The inaugural event in 2025 attracted more than 3,000 riders and raised over AU$160,000 for The Salvation Army, funding programmes including emergency housing, support services for women and families, and financial counselling for people facing hardship.
Harley-Davidson says the success of last year’s ride has established United We Ride as a significant annual event on the Australasian motorcycling calendar, bringing together Harley owners, H.O.G. chapter members and riders from across the wider motorcycle community.
Unlike many brand-specific events, participation is open to all motorcyclists regardless of what they ride.

Registrations and fundraising are already open through the event website, with riders able to collect donations right up until the September ride date. Harley-Davidson has also confirmed that top fundraisers will again be eligible for prize packs, including a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
“Unlike many brand-specific events, participation is open to all motorcyclists regardless of what they ride.”
Among those taking part last year was top fundraiser Darren Fairhall, who said supporting The Salvation Army gave riders confidence that their fundraising efforts were making a genuine difference.
“I felt as though it was somewhere I could give back,” Fairhall said. “Everything they’re doing to help people who are in more difficult situations than us, it’s a great cause. Hopefully, we can raise even more this year and help the people out there who are in vulnerable situations.”
The event will kick off simultaneously across Australia and New Zealand at 11am AEST on Saturday, September 12, with participating Harley-Davidson dealerships acting as starting points for regional rides.
With motorcycle charities and fundraising rides continuing to grow in popularity, Harley-Davidson will be hoping to surpass last year’s participation and fundraising figures as United We Ride enters its second year.
