Limited-edition MV Agusta Brutale 1000 ABT is here!

  • Collaboration with ABT Sportsline
  • Comes with race-spec performance components
  • Limited to just 130 units

MV Agusta has unveiled one of its wildest hyper nakeds yet with the launch of the Brutale 1000 ABT, a limited-edition collaboration with German tuning powerhouse ABT Sportsline that blends Italian superbike drama with German motorsport influence.

Limited to just 130 individually numbered units worldwide to celebrate ABT’s 130th anniversary, the new machine is effectively MV Agusta, turning the already outrageous Brutale formula up another notch.

At the heart of the bike sits MV’s familiar 998cc inline-four, updated to comply with Euro5+ emissions regulations while still delivering suitably absurd performance figures. In road-going form, output stands at 201bhp at 13,500rpm and 116Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. But buyers also receive a dedicated racing package featuring an Arrow titanium four-exit exhaust system and revised ECU mapping that lifts power to 208bhp at 14,000rpm, though, as expected, this setup is strictly intended for track use.

Beyond the headline numbers, MV says the motor has received meaningful refinements rather than just a compliance update. Revised camshafts, sharper throttle calibration, updated gearing and a shorter final-drive ratio suggest the Brutale 1000 ABT is chasing stronger acceleration and more immediate response rather than simply top-end bragging rights.

Visually, the collaboration leans heavily into the identity of both brands. Finished in Nero Carbonio Metallizzato with Rosso Fuoco red accents, the bike wears different branding themes across either side. One flank carries ABT’s “From the Racetrack to the Road” slogan alongside a German flag, while the other stays loyal to MV’s long-standing “Motorcycle Art” tagline and Italian tricolore.

There is also no shortage of carbon fibre. A total of 19 components receive a carbon treatment, including tank panels, the airbox cover, front spoiler and heat shields. The standout detail, though, is the turbofan-style rear wheel cover, inspired by motorsport aerodynamic wheels. According to MV, this is more than styling theatre, helping reduce turbulence around the rear wheel and improving aerodynamic efficiency.

Underneath, the specification reads like a superbike wishlist. Fully electronic Öhlins suspension includes NIX EC forks, a TTX rear shock, and an adjustable steering damper. Forged wheels reduce unsprung mass, while braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylema callipers gripping 320mm Braking Batfly discs.

Luxury touches complete the package, including an Alcantara seat with honeycomb stitching, plus a premium ownership kit containing a dedicated bike cover, certificate of authenticity, welcome package and track-focused parts.

From a market perspective, the Brutale 1000 ABT feels less like a motorcycle designed to broaden MV Agusta’s customer base and more like a statement product. At this level, exclusivity becomes part of the value proposition. Buyers are not simply paying for performance; plenty of hyper nakeds offer similar numbers, but for rarity, craftsmanship, and the crossover appeal of two performance brands with strong enthusiast followings.

That said, limited-edition motorcycles like this also reinforce brand positioning. For MV Agusta, machines such as the Brutale 1000 ABT help maintain its image as a boutique maker of rolling exotica rather than a volume-focused manufacturer. Whether it ever turns a wheel in anger on track is almost secondary; this is as much collectable artwork as it is hyper naked motorcycle. Production is scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2026, and given the numbers involved, it would not be surprising if many of the 130 bikes are spoken for long before then.
