KTM 390 Adventure R set for international launch

  • Uses the same 399cc engine as 390 Duke
  • Launch across Europe in coming months
  • Possible NZ and AUS launch by early 2026

KTM is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated 390 Adventure R across Europe in the coming months. After its debut at EICMA 2024 in Milan, the rollout was delayed due to financial challenges. However, a recent €750 million investment from Bajaj has put the brand back on solid footing and reignited KTM’s product push.

Leading the charge is the 390 Adventure R, the most rugged model in KTM’s small-cap ADV lineup. Based on the same platform as the latest 390 Duke, it features a 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 45.4 bhp and 39Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Built with serious off-road intentions, the bike comes equipped with 21-inch front / 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels, long-travel suspension. increased ground clearance, ergonomics optimised for control in tough terrain and is highly customisable with rally-derived parts

KTM will also offer a wide range of factory accessories, including fully adjustable suspension components from its rally catalogue. This allows riders to tailor the bike for off-road or touring use with ease, something rarely offered in this class.

The 390 Adventure R’s launch will be accompanied by the broader 390 range, including the 390 Enduro R and the 390 SMC R. Exact launch dates are expected soon, as KTM prepares for an aggressive return to the European market. With that said, we can also expect the motorcycles to make their way to our shores in Australia and New Zealand by early 2026.
