- Desmo 450MX production commenced
- To be priced at $17,793
- Launch in AUS And NZ in September
Ducati has commenced the production of the Desmo 450MX- its latest motocross bike and rolled out the first unit from its factory. The motorcycle has already been announced for a launch in Australia and New Zealand in September with a price tag of $16,300 in AUS and $17,793 in NZ.

Powering the bike is a 449.6cc single-cylinder engine featuring Ducati’s iconic Desmodromic valve actuation—a groundbreaking first in the motocross category. The goal? Delivering broad, accessible power throughout the rev range. Unlike most motocross machines that keep electronics minimal, Ducati’s taken a different approach by introducing high-end traction control. But this isn’t just any basic system—it’s a sophisticated setup capable of reading rear-wheel slip with pinpoint accuracy. It knows exactly when to engage and, just as crucially, when to stay out of the way. It’s the sort of tech you’d expect on a Panigale superbike, not out in the dirt.
The chassis deserves just as much attention. Crafted from lightweight aluminium with minimal welds, the frame is engineered for optimal rigidity while keeping weight low. Ducati claims it’s been tuned to enhance rider input, reduce fatigue, and increase confidence—especially useful when you’re pinned in third and the rear starts getting loose.

As expected, Ducati Performance has an extensive range of factory-spec upgrades ready. Think billet aluminium triple clamps, lightweight hubs, a titanium Akrapovič slip-on exhaust, and serious stopping power courtesy of Brembo Racing calipers. If you’re aiming for MXGP-level hardware like Seewer and Guadagnini, this kit brings you close.
And because style matters even in the mud, Ducati has teamed up with Drudi Performance to offer a premium factory-style apparel line—featuring gear from Alpinestars and Arai. After all, if you’re going to take a tumble, you might as well do it looking sharp.
Ducati participated in the Italian Prestige MX1 and is finally making its debut at the Motorcross World Championship. The MXGP 2025 team is managed by Aruba.it- Ducati Factory MX Team with Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini as riders.

Now, the 2025 MXGP season has already commenced earlier last month and consists of twenty races across four continents. Ducati has also announced that they are also developing the new Desmo 250MX prototype that will race in the Italian MX2 Champuonship with Alessandro Lupino and Antonio Cairoli for the project.
