- BMW to supply S1000RR and two M1000RR
- Contract of three years signed
- Will also a mix of BMW SUVs
BMW has officially entered a new three-year agreement with the iconic Isle of Man TT races, to provide their S1000RR superbikes for use by the event’s travelling marshals through to 2027.
This new arrangement sees BMW stepping in as the primary supplier for the TT’s volunteer marshals, replacing Honda, who previously equipped them with the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. These marshals play a critical role in on-course incident response across the 60.72km Mountain Course—often while the race is ongoing—making rapid deployment and agility vital.
Beyond the two-wheeled fleet, BMW will also provide additional support vehicles for race officials and medical teams, with both motorcycles and cars being part of the package.
“The TT’s experienced personnel—from marshals to medical responders—are fundamental to delivering one of motorsport’s most thrilling and demanding events,” said Scott Grimsdall, BMW Motorrad UK’s Head of Marketing and PR. “Their ability to respond quickly and safely is key, and we’re proud to support them with a selection of BMW vehicles equipped with top-tier technology to help them fulfil their duties effectively.”

In addition to the S1000RR superbikes, two M1000RR models will be provided specifically for Rider Liaison Officers John Barton and Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle. These two play pivotal roles in guiding newcomers and performing on-course evaluations during the races.
Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport for the Isle of Man TT, expressed his support for the collaboration: “Our medical response team is constantly working to raise the bar in safety and performance. Ensuring that all our officials and marshals have access to the best tools and technology is essential in achieving this goal.”
The vehicle fleet also includes a mix of BMW X5 and X3 SUVs, with the powerful 616bhp X5 M designated as the Medical Fast Response Car, reinforcing BMW’s comprehensive support for the legendary road racing event.
