Royal Enfield is all set to launch its newest offering in the 650cc twin range- the Bear 650 in Australia and New Zealand soon. Now, the manufacturer has announced the commencement of pre-orders across all dealerships.
The Bear 650 will have a starting price of $11,490 making it $300 more expensive than the Interceptor 650- the bike it is based on. However, the Bear 650 has changes and tweaks to set it apart as a more rugged and off-road motorcycle. You’d immediately notice the scrambler-inspired design with a different tail section and the race number plate on the side. It even comes with a different exhaust setup, revised seat, braced handlebar and spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres. These are wrapped around a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.
Underneath, however, is the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor. Although, it does get a slight revision in numbers. The motor churns out 47bhp and 57Nm; 5Nm more than the Interceptor 650. On the hardware front, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 comes with long-travel USD forks and twin springs at the rear. The brand has also revised the rake angle for better and sharper handling. Braking is handled by single discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The list of features includes a four-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is being offered in a choice of five colours- Petrol Green, White Honey, Broadwalk White, Golden Shadow and Two Four Nine.
