Yamaha has released videos online teasing an upcoming motorcycle that is believed to be the all-new R9.
While the teaser videos leave more to the imagination than we’d like, they give vital glimpses of what to expect from the bike. There are shots of the headlamp and a clear view of the rear wheel and swingarm that seems similar to the XSR900 GP.
Further throwing in hints is a countdown that begins at number 10, glitches, and stops at the number 9. We can expect the motorcycle to derive most of its components from the MT-09 SP which comes with premium bits like the Brembo Stylema calipers.
However, the teaser showcased a rear shock in the signature Yamaha blue rather than the golden-bottle Ohlins shock with remote preload adjuster that the MT-09 SP comes with. Yamaha could offer the motorcycle in two variants- standard and an R9M with all the bells and whistles.
That said, we wouldn’t have to wait long as the new motorcycle is set to be unveiled next week on 9 October. So stay tuned to BRM to know more about the Yamaha R9!
