Triumph’s big twin Scrambler has always balanced rugged performance with timeless British cool — but for 2026, the Scrambler 1200 XE levels up again. Now boasting a premium Showa and Öhlins suspension package, sharper styling and an even more refined feel, this is the ultimate evolution of Triumph’s go-anywhere modern classic.
Available to order now and arriving at Triumph New Zealand dealerships in 2026 (pricing TBC), the latest XE delivers everything riders love about the Scrambler DNA — but turns the volume up on quality, control, and outright adventure potential.
“Our customers expect the Scrambler 1200 XE to deliver uncompromising performance — and the demand for top-tier components has never been higher,” says Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer. “For 2026, we’re giving riders the very best suspension and control for road and trail alike.”

Built for the Trail. Refined for the Road.
At the heart of the 2026 XE lies Triumph’s 1200cc High Power Bonneville twin, producing a muscular 90PS and 110Nm of torque at just 4,250rpm. It’s tuned specifically for the Scrambler, offering tractable grunt and instant throttle response across all conditions. A torque-assist clutch and six-speed gearbox keep things smooth, while the signature high-level exhaust delivers that unmistakable Scrambler bark .
But it’s the chassis and suspension updates that really move the needle this year. Fully adjustable 47mm Showa USD forks up front meet twin Öhlins RSU shocks at the rear — both delivering 250mm of travel. Whether carving gravel switchbacks or hammering coastal highways, this setup offers serious off-road capability with the refinement of a road bike.
“Built for the trail, refined for the road — the Scrambler 1200 XE is the ultimate expression of Triumph’s adventure classic DNA.”

Control, Confidence and Cornering Tech
Stopping power matches the intent. Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial calipers clamp onto twin 320mm front discs, backed by a Nissin rear setup. Add Triumph’s Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control, and the XE’s braking and stability inspire total confidence — with full-off modes available for advanced dirt riding.
Electronic refinement doesn’t stop there. Triumph’s ride-by-wire system offers six riding modes, including the XE-exclusive Off-Road Pro mode, which disables traction control and ABS completely for unrestricted terrain attacks. A full-colour TFT display, backlit switchgear, and single-button cruise control bring big-bike convenience to the Scrambler’s retro aesthetic.

Adventure Style Meets Premium Detail
Stylistically, the XE keeps its muscular stance — but gets a visual refresh for 2026. A bold XE tank graphic, gold detailing, and two new colour options — Matt Khaki Green & Matt Crystal White or Silver Ice & Phantom Black — join the stealthy Sapphire Black base model .
Other high-end touches include a brushed aluminium Monza filler cap, anodised swingarm, aluminium number boards, and ribbed bench seat. Over 70 factory accessories are available, from touring screens and leather panniers to off-road protection and lighting upgrades, all backed by Triumph’s two-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

Adventure Credentials, Modern Reliability
Under the rugged looks sits a highly capable adventure chassis — 21-inch front / 17-inch rear spoked aluminium rims, 16-litre fuel tank, and 227kg wet weight — plus a class-leading 16,000km service interval. If you’re looking for a crossover motorcycle that has heaps of attitude and promises plenty of fun, then look no further than the updated Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE.
