A flawless Waikato spring day set the stage for the final round of the 2025–26 Suzuki–Auckland Motorcycle Club Series at Hampton Downs on November 16, with only a single interruption marring an otherwise smooth and action-packed programme. An oil spill in the third Junior race brought out the red flag and caught several riders off guard, but the clean-up was swift and racing resumed without further issues.
The day also included the always-anticipated Carl Cox Motorsport Cup 1-Hour, sparked to life with a traditional Le Mans start. In the seventh running of the endurance event, 23 bikes lined up — a mix of Ninja 400s and Hyosung 250s, with several strong dual-rider combinations entering the fray. In the Ninja class, Joe Stroud and brother Jesse claimed victory by nine seconds over Lucas Hyslop and Tyler King, after 45 hard-fought laps. The Hyosung race produced the closest finish of the entire season, with Alyssa Boyd and Cameron Leslie beating points leader Scott Findlay by a scarcely believable 0.005 seconds.

Earlier sprint races helped shape the Cup standings heading into the final two rounds at MotoFest and MotoMania in 2026, with Justin Reid leading the Ninja class and Findlay maintaining a comfortable advantage in the Hyosung category despite his narrow 1-Hour defeat.
In Sidecars, Phillip Law and Angus Ravenwood wrapped up the season title in commanding fashion, collecting nine wins from 12 starts. Peter Goodwin & George Vennell and Dave McArthur & Jordan Burley each added a victory to close their year.

The Senior class produced some of the day’s fastest laps, with Rogan Chandler and Ray Clee the only riders to dip into the 1:04s aboard their litre bikes. Consistency, however, proved crucial in the Formula Auckland standings, where Dave Sharp secured the title by scoring points in every round — edging out Clee, whose raw pace was offset by a single non-finish at Round One.

Further down the field, Ian Reed completed an almost perfect season in Formula Auckland (1:09), winning 11 of 12 races. Supersport 600 saw a tight contest between Jesse Stroud on the lone ZX-6R and the trio of KTM RC8C riders — Cameron Leslie, Hamish Simpson and Logan Rowell. Leslie ultimately claimed the series title after another dominant performance, with both he and Stroud circulating in the impressive 1:06 bracket.

Intermediate once again delivered some of the best racing of the year. In ProTwin 650, Cameron Leslie added to his Supersport triumph by securing the title by six points over Tyler King. In Superlite, Zak Fuller and the Honda CBR650R proved a potent pairing, sealing the championship over the GSX-8Rs of Jesse Stroud and Ray Clee. Stroud managed one last win in the final race, but Fuller’s relentless 1:09 pace was the benchmark.

In her debut season, Alyssa Boyd claimed the ProLite title by 6.5 points over Troy Fowles — an outstanding result within a packed Junior field. Supersport 150 delivered a nail-biter as Troy Stephens clinched the championship by a single point over Samuel Chave, while Billy Macrae stormed through the final rounds but was unable to make up points after missing Round One.

Supersport 300 rounded out the programme, with Lucas Hyslop taking the series win ahead of a talented group including Alvin Wu, Elijah Daken, Nixon Frost and others who shared wins throughout the season.

Before racing wrapped up, attention turned to the popular lunchtime Lucky Draw, with more than 70 eligible competitors in the running for major prizes. Trent McDiarmid walked away with a brand-new Suzuki GSX150F, while Jack Harrison claimed a premium RST Pro Series Airbag race suit. In an amusing twist, both riders compete in the Carl Cox Motorsport Cup — making for some memorable celebrations as their names were called.
With the final round complete, attention now shifts to the headline events of early 2026, as NZ road racing builds toward MotoFest, MotoMania and what promises to be an electric NZSBK season.
