After months of spy shots and speculation, Triumph has officially unveiled the Scrambler 400 XC overseas. Designed with adventure in mind, this new variant adds a serious off-road edge to Triumph’s entry-level lineup.

The XC shares its core platform with the Scrambler 400 X but gets a handful of key upgrades for better off-road performance. The most significant? A set of tubeless cross-spoke wheels—tougher for off-road use and easier to repair when punctures strike.

To help it stand out from its sibling, the Scrambler 400 XC comes in three all-new colours: Racing Yellow, Vanilla White, and Granite—all featuring bold speed-block graphics. The Yellow is loud and lively, while the other two options lean towards a sleek, understated look.

The XC gets a few design tweaks to highlight its adventurous side. A colour-matched beak-style front fender and windscreen come standard, while an aluminium bash plate and reinforced engine guards offer extra protection when the trail gets tricky.

Powering the Scrambler 400 XC is the same 398cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine found on the 400 X. It produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, paired with a slick six-speed gearbox. Riders can expect a smoother throttle feel than some rivals, including the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Modern rider aids come standard, including full LED lighting, traction control, switchable ABS, and a slipper-assist clutch. It’s beginner-friendly but doesn’t compromise on equipment—ideal for riders making their first foray into adventure motorcycling.

Triumph is expected to launch the Scrambler 400 XC in Australia and New Zealand with a pricing that will sit slightly above the Scrambler 400 X, which currently retails at $8,995 NZD.
