- More track-focused version
- More power and slightly more torque
- Will only be available in limited numbers in AUS and NZ
KTM has unveiled the all-new KTM 990 RC R Track, a sharper, circuit-focused version of the 990 RC R. The Track variant will be available in strictly limited numbers through authorised dealers in Australia and New Zealand from May 2026, with showroom arrivals expected from March.
Although the road-going KTM 990 RC R broke cover in late 2025, the Track edition takes things further. KTM describes it as a “pure-bred non-street legal supersport motorcycle”, stripping away lights, mirrors and the side-stand in favour of a race-ready configuration. The injected plastic fairings are designed to accept personal race decals, and a taller windscreen supports a full tuck position on track.

Power comes from the familiar LC8c parallel-twin DOHC engine shared with the standard bike. However, in Track specification, it produces a claimed 133 bhp, up from 126 bhp in the road model, along with 104Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, a modest 1.3Nm increase. The model is also eligible for competition in the KTM 990 RC R Cup, reinforcing its track-first positioning.

The 990 RC R Track runs on Michelin tyres and features three customisable track modes. Rider aids include Traction Control, adjustable Slip control, Anti-Wheelie Mode, Launch Control and Engine Brake Control. A Pit Limiter and quickshifter come as standard, while a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT dash provides lap data and core information.

Braking is handled by Brembo hardware, with dual four-piston callipers gripping 320mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc paired with a single-piston calliper. Suspension duties fall to WP Suspension components at both ends, offering 130mm of travel.
In short, the 990 RC R Track is positioned as a ready-to-race package for riders who want a factory-developed supersport without road-going compromises, and with production capped, exclusivity will be part of the appeal.
