Navman Launches MiVue™ Rider DC Helmet Camera: Dual Channel Protection for Riders

  • Front and rear facing cameras to catch the action in both directions.
  • 2.5 Quad HD @ 30fps / 1080P @ 60fps.
  • Up to 4.5 hours of continuous recording.

Have you always liked the idea of having a dashcam for when you’re riding, but aren’t particularly keen on mounting something to your bike. Or maybe you have more than one bike in the shed, so you need a camera system that can travel with you.

Well, now you can record your ride whenever you want as Navman has released this purpose-built helmet dash cam designed with motorcyclists specific needs in mind. And they sent us one to try out!

This compact, dual-channel camera setup records both front and rear footage in crisp 2.5K Quad HD at 30fps, with the option to switch to 1080P Full HD at 60fps for fast-paced riding. It’s powered by a high-quality 4MP CMOS sensor and is fully weatherproof with an IP67 rating, making it tough enough to handle all-season commuting, touring, or off-road detours.

Smart Tech, Seamless Use

Navman’s Rider DC is packed with clever features designed to simplify operation and maximise safety. The camera automatically powers on when snapped into its helmet mount (indicated by a satisfying “click”) and shuts off when removed to preserve its 3200mAh rechargeable battery, which offers up to 4.5 hours of continuous recording.

Thanks to the Super MP4 format, footage is saved to the microSD card in two-second intervals, which drastically reduces the risk of data loss in case of an interruption. It also features a built-in 3-Axis G-sensor, which instantly triggers an “event recording” if it detects a fall or impact—ensuring vital evidence is saved even in the worst-case scenario.

Trip Lapse, GPS & Ride Sharing

One standout feature is the camera’s Trip Lapse mode, which compresses long rides into shareable, time-lapsed videos—perfect for reliving a Sunday blast or showing off a scenic commute. Through the MiVue™ Pro Companion App, riders can view and share their trips, complete with GPS-tagged location and speed data. This information can be turned off if privacy is a concern, and users can also export their routes as GPX files for trip logs or planning.

Whether you’re touring the country or just commuting through the city, the Rider DC offers a reliable eyewitness for insurance claims, a content creation tool, and a genuine safety enhancement all in one sleek package.

The MiVue™ Rider DC is available now with an RRP of $399. It’s a solid investment for motorcyclists looking to protect themselves, record evidence, and document their riding adventures—all from a device that works with the rhythm of your ride.

We’re going to be running the new Rider DC on our helmets over the next couple of months. Check back for more reports on how it goes and also to check some footage. Until then, for more info or to download the MiVue™ Pro Companion App, head to www.bits4bikes.co.nz or visit your local Navman retailer.
