MV Agusta marks Giacomo Agostini’s 83rd birthday with a retro-modern superbike – the Superveloce 1000 Ago. Just 83 units will be produced, making this one of the brand’s most exclusive offerings yet. Each motorcycle ships with a certificate of authenticity, custom bike cover, additional pillion seat and pegs, and carbon heel guards. It’s a collector-focused machine, both visually and mechanically.

Draped in full carbon fibre, the fairings include aerodynamic winglets and a single-seat unit, giving the bike both racing aggression and a nod to the golden age of Grand Prix styling.

This model shares mechanicals with the Serie Oro concept shown in 2024 and shares its heart with the Rush 1000 and Brutale 1000, keeping it firmly rooted in MV’s modern performance lineup. Powered by a 998cc inline-four, the bike delivers 205.2bhp at 13,000rpm and 116.6Nm at 11,000rpm. The dry weight sits at 209kg, allowing for sharp performance dynamics.

The steel trellis frame connects to a single-sided aluminium swingarm, with Öhlins providing electronically adjustable 43mm NIX forks and a TTX rear shock, each with 120mm of travel. A steering damper up front completes the handling package.

The underseat four-pipe exhaust layout harks back to the legendary F4 superbike. Cut-outs in the fairing reveal portions of the chassis – a blend of heritage and mechanical theatre.

Each bike features a unique gold-engraved number plate on the top yoke and wears bright yellow race number boards on red and silver livery – a homage to Agostini’s iconic machines. Every ignition key features a brass coin made from an actual victory trophy won by Agostini at Imola in the 500cc class. It’s a genuine slice of history carried with the rider.

The 5.5-inch TFT dash offers access to a full suite of aids: launch control, wheelie control, cruise control, and cornering ABS. Brembo Stylema brakes and rear lift mitigation provide serious stopping power. Built-in GPS functionality via the MV Ride app, along with a Mobisat anti-theft system (with 12 months free service), ensures that the high-tech side of the bike is as refined as its performance.

Each buyer receives a custom Dainese Demone GP 3X suit and a matching AGV Pista GP RR helmet, designed to complement the bike and celebrate Ago’s racing legacy visually.

The Superveloce 1000 Ago is the first major release from MV Agusta since its return to independent Italian ownership in 2025, following the buyback of shares from Pierer Mobility AG.
