As you may have already seen, big changes are coming to MotoFest this year, and for riders heading along to this incredible event, this is easily the most exciting one yet: demo bikes are now available to book.

With 6 brands signed up to provide bikes for attendees to sample, we look at the CFMoto range that will be available,  with some truly exciting machines covering adventure, sport, tourer and naked segments. CFMoto Demo Bikes

So, below is a list of what’s on offer, and who each bike will suit best.

500SR VOOM

If you remember the days of 400cc, 4-cylinder ‘pocket rockets’, then the 500SR VOOM is likely to bring those sorts of memories flooding back. In a world of sensible parallel twins, CFMoto has come up with this unique sport bike that combines the sportiness of those screaming 4-cylinder machines with modern tech and styling. Oh, and it’s decidedly more flexible, too. Meaning it’s not quite as focused as those eighties and nineties machines.

With a sporty riding position, exhausts that look like they’re straight off a Moto2 bike, and all the modern tech and rider aids that are standard on virtually all modern CFMotos, the VOOM delivers an unmistakable look and full-power performance in a stunning-looking package.

Who’s It For?

Riders looking for a stylish bike after getting their full licence, sportsbike riders looking for a smaller capacity machine, or anyone who simply loves the styling.

450MT

The bike that almost single-handedly launched the small-capacity adventure bike segments, the 450MT became an instant success as soon as models landed and has been NZ’s biggest-selling bike for 2 years running. Featuring a 450cc parallel twin engine that punches well above its weight the MT is ready for adventure as soon as it rolls off the showroom floor.

Long-travel suspension, 21-inch / 18-inch wheels, modern TFT dash and rider aids including ABS that you deactivate from the rear wheel, the CFMoto not only ticks all the adventure boxes but looks good at the same time. If you haven’t tried one, you really need too.

Who’s It For?

Anyone who fancies dipping their toe into adventure riding, or riders looking for a capable LAMS-approved machine that can commute, tour, gravel or cruise. The 450MT has brought Adv riding to the masses.

800MT-X

The most off-road focussed of the MT series, the MT-X is a seriously capable adventure bike for those looking at the mid-capacity segment. With close ties to KTM during the development of this model, the MT-X gets the low-slung fuel tank that keeps the weight low in the chassis, while the comprehensive suite of electronics make this feel like a bike with a much higher price tag.

The Australasian launch of the MT-X didn’t pull any punches, with lots of high-speed gravel, deep puddles, rocky hills and muddy trails demonstrating what the MT-X is capable of. And it rode through/over everything we pointed it at. Comfortable for long-distance work, the low-seat version of this bike suddenly makes adventure riding more accessible to many riders.

Who it’s for:

Those riders looking for a mid-capacity adventure machine with decent capability, comfort and a punchy powerplant without a huge price tag.

675NK

No one expected CFMoto to unveil a 675cc three-cylinder naked bike after the success of their parallel twin models, but that’s exactly what they did, and it’s another seriously good bike. The motor offers a decent 94hp @ 11,000rpm and 70Nm @ 8,250rpm making it seriously good fun on the road, and even the track if that’s your thing.

The sit-in riding position offers plenty of control, while the usual excellent TFT dash and electronics makes this a bike that is truly a heap of fun. Thrilling to ride with the triple cylinders wailing from the underslung exhaust, this will be a popular bike for demos.

Who it’s for:

A rider looking for sporty fun without an extreme riding position, and those that love the three cylinder soundtrack.

675SR-R

The SR-R features the same three-cylinder engine as the naked NK, just wrapped in a full fairing and featuring a more focused riding position. If you’re looking for a bike that looks like it’s fast even when on the sidestand, then this is it. The LED lights sweep across the front when you turn the ignition on and the SR-R just gets cooler from there.

Features include an awesome TFT dash, switchable power maps, underslung exhaust, adjustable KYB suspension and stunning brakes, making this one of the most affordable true sports bikes you can buy.

Who it’s for:

Those riders who love a sports bike with a three-cylinder powerplant or those who simply like to ride something that looks seriously good.

450SR

Who knew that you could have a LAMS bike that looks this cool? The 450SR is CFMoto’s entry-level small capacity sports bike, but that doesn’t mean that it’s lacking looks or features. Offering 46hp @ 10,000rpm from the 450cc parallel twin that’s found in the 450MT, you’ll still be doing 0-100km/h in under 5 seconds.

Decent suspension, Brembo M40 Monobloc brake, BOSCH ABS and a slipper clutch mean that despite the 450SR’s small capacity, it’s still going to be a capable bike for pushing the limits and having a bit of fun.

Who it’s for:

Those riders on a learner licence who don’t want to look like they are. Riders who want a sports bike but don’t want to be doing the ballistic speeds of the big capacity machines.

800NK Advanced

Using the 799cc parallel twin that was developed in conjunction with KTM, the 800NK has real naked bike performance. And it look radical as well, with the angular design and a dash which could easily be an iPad dropped into the middle of the handlebars. This bike really does push boundaries and is well worth a demo.

The sit-in riding position not only offers decent comfort but also makes the NK accessible to many riders, while the flexible nature of the powerplant means this bike can cruise or scratch – the choice is yours.

Who it’s for:

Riders looking for an affordable naked performance bike that looks unique and is a heap of fun. Also, those who love top tech.

450CL-C

If you love the cruiser genre but also want a bike that can handle the twisties and doesn’t feel heavy and unwieldy, then you need to try the 450CL-C. This bike is a perfect example of how you can have the cruiser look without punishing it with bad manners.
We love the motor as it is the same 450cc parallel twin from CFMoto’s other models. But the CL-C also sounds great, handles great and is comfortable to ride for extended periods. And the saddle is so close to the floor that if you’re a rider who struggles to get their feet down, then you need to try this bike.

Who it’s for:

Riders looking for a cruiser that doesn’t suffer from all the usual issues you expect from cruisers. Oh, and it’s seriously affordable, too!
