Moto Guzzi has refreshed its iconic V7 range for 2025, bringing new style, sharper performance, and modern rider technology to one of motorcycling’s true classics. And for Kiwi riders, the big news is the return of the V7 Sport, the most dynamic and advanced V7 yet, which joins the elegant V7 Special in New Zealand showrooms soon.

Approaching its sixtieth anniversary, the V7 remains the purest expression of Moto Guzzi’s DNA. Since its rebirth in 2008, it has steadily evolved, gaining an ever-wider following without losing its character. The latest version stays true to that lineage, but with some important updates that enhance both performance and rider appeal.
At the heart of the new range is Moto Guzzi’s unique transverse 90° V-twin, now fully Euro 5+ compliant and featuring Ride-by-Wire throttle control for the first time. Power rises slightly to 67hp, but it’s the torque that riders will really feel — a healthy 79Nm delivered lower in the rev range, making the bike stronger and smoother in everyday use. The addition of selectable riding modes, traction control and cruise control brings the V7 right up to date in terms of rider aids, without diluting its character.

While the Special continues as the elegant, chrome-accented option that pays homage to the original 1967 model, the real headline act is the new V7 Sport. With inverted forks, dual front discs, Brembo radial-mount calipers, lightweight alloy wheels and a six-axis inertial platform, it’s the sharpest-handling and most technologically advanced V7 ever produced. A dedicated Sport riding mode, Cornering ABS and Cornering Traction Control underline its modern performance focus, while styling touches like bar-end mirrors, red-stitched seat and heritage-inspired paint schemes link it back to Moto Guzzi’s sporting past.

Design refinement carries across the range. Both versions get sleeker lines, a shorter rear mudguard, new side panels and a more aggressive exhaust layout. A full LED lighting system, including a DRL in the shape of the Guzzi eagle, and a single-round LCD instrument cluster with updated graphics complete the modern touches.

For Kiwi riders, the lineup is clear. Moto Guzzi New Zealand will offer the 2025 V7 Special and V7 Sport, but not the V7 Stone. Both bikes are expected to arrive in local dealerships soon, with pricing set at:
MY25 Moto Guzzi V7 Special: RRP $19,490 (+orc)
MY25 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport: RRP $19,990 (+orc)
The V7 has always been more than just a motorcycle. It’s a piece of Italian heritage that has stood the test of time. With the 2025 update — especially the return of the Sport — it’s clear that Moto Guzzi is determined to keep this legend not only alive, but thriving well into the future.
