- Comes with 25.7bhp and 36.9Nm on offer
- Gets a new swappable battery system
- Expected launch in NZ and AUS from July 2026
KTM has unveiled its new flagship electric off-roader, the KTM Freeride E, set to arrive in AUS and NZ dealerships this July onwards in limited numbers.
The 2027 Freeride E is powered by a 29kg lithium-ion battery, delivering a claimed two to three hours of typical enduro-style riding. Peak output stands at 25.7bhp, with torque rated at approximately 36.9 Nm, and the bike offers three riding modes, Eco, Normal, and Sport, alongside adjustable traction control communicated via LED indicators.

KTM has managed to increase performance while reducing overall weight, with the bike now tipping the scales at just 112kg. The motor and battery are housed within a chrome-molybdenum steel frame, paired with a lightweight subframe made from aluminium and glass-fibre reinforced nylon. Seat height is set at 910mm, reinforcing its off-road focus.
Battery capacity has also been improved, with KTM claiming 5.5kWh from its new swappable battery system. The unit is designed for durability too, maintaining up to 80% of its effectiveness even after more than 1,000 charging cycles.

True to KTM’s off-road pedigree, suspension duties are handled by WP components, while braking is managed by Braktec hardware. The bike runs on Michelin Enduro Medium tyres, mounted on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear aluminium wheels.
A fresh colour scheme completes the update, giving the Freeride E a more modern look ahead of its arrival. This launch follows closely behind KTM’s recent reveal of the KTM 890 Adventure R Rally, highlighting the brand’s continued push across both electric and traditional off-road segments.
