Kawasaki NZ confirms 2026 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR launch

  • Both models to be launched by mid-2026
  • Come with updated styling, features and electronics
  • Likely to command a slightly higher price tag than before

Kawasaki New Zealand has confirmed that the updated Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-10RR will be available locally, with both models expected to reach showrooms in mid-2026.

Kawasaki ZX-10R

The biggest visual change is a new set of winglets positioned under the headlight. Kawasaki says these aren’t just for style, they’re designed to improve front-end stability and cornering control. The standard ZX-10R is also said to be running a new 998cc engine, although Kawasaki hasn’t shared power or torque numbers. It’s likely to be close to the current model’s 156kW and 114Nm.

The chassis stays light and sharp, supported by Showa suspension, while braking comes from 330mm Brembo front discs. The electronics package includes traction control, launch control, ABS, engine-braking settings, and Kawasaki’s cornering management system. Extra features include a quickshifter, Öhlins steering damper, LED lighting, Bridgestone Battlax RS12 tyres, and a 5-inch TFT screen.

The limited-edition Ninja ZX-10RR remains the more exclusive option, with production capped at 500 units worldwide — and only 10 units heading to Australia and New Zealand. It gains lighter pistons, titanium connecting rods, titanium-coated fork tubes, steel braided brake lines, and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres for a more track-focused setup.

Kawasaki says full pricing and final specs will be announced closer to the bike’s 2026 launch.
