Global powerhouse Iconic Motorbikes has signed on as naming sponsor for the 2026 New Zealand Grand Prix round of the Star Insure NZSBK Championship, giving the season opener a major international boost.

The opening round of the 2026 Star Insure New Zealand Superbike Championship has landed a major international partner, with global marketplace Iconic Motorbikes confirmed as the naming sponsor for the New Zealand Grand Prix at Ruapuna on January 30–February 1.

Iconic Motorbikes—one of the world’s biggest online platforms for buying and selling motorcycles, memorabilia and parts—brings a huge global reach to the championship. The California-based company boasts over 350,000 Facebook followers, 335,000 on Instagram, and nearly 20,000 YouTube subscribers, giving the NZGP unprecedented international visibility.

Series promoter Mike Marsden says the partnership grew naturally from Iconic founder Adam Tromp’s first visit to New Zealand earlier this year.

“He was also seriously impressed with what we were doing, the vibe of the New Zealand bike scene, and was buzzing when we asked him to present the winners’ trophies.”

Tromp’s trip included meeting one of his racing heroes, Aaron Slight—a moment Marsden says left a big impression.

Marsden later visited Tromp in California, strengthening the relationship further. With Iconic now establishing a New Zealand operation, the company sees involvement with NZSBK as the perfect way to connect with Kiwi riders.

Tromp says he’s thrilled to officially support the championship.

“I really enjoyed my time in the New Zealand bike scene in February. There was just such a positive vibe and getting to meet one of my heroes was an unexpected bonus.”

“I said to Mike before I returned to the United States that I wanted to get Iconic involved and here we are.”

“Having our brand associated with such a prestigious title meeting makes our involvement very special.”

The Iconic Motorbikes NZGP round will feature Grand Prix titles across all championship classes, making it a blockbuster opening to the 2026 season.
