- Final print issue of Bike Rider Magazine now off the shelves after more than 20 years
- All BRM reviews, road tests, first rides, and news are now published at www.brm.co.nz
- Same trusted motorcycle journalism — delivered faster, deeper and fully digital
Most of you will probably already be aware, but just in case you missed the memo… after more than two decades as New Zealand’s trusted road-bike motorcycle title, the final print issue of Bike Rider Magazine has now finished its run on newsstands.
With print officially wrapped, BRM is now 100 per cent digital, with all motorcycle reviews, road tests, first rides, news and features published at www.brm.co.nz. And no, that’s not a digital magazine that you have to flick through on the screen. Everything is live here on the BRM website, meaning it’s searchable and works on whatever device you happen to be using to view it. Easy.

Since its beginnings, Bike Rider Magazine has focused on real-world motorcycling — independent reviews, honest opinions and content tailored specifically to Kiwi riders. That philosophy hasn’t changed. What has changed is where and how readers access it.
Over the past 12 months, BRM has steadily transitioned its focus to its website, YouTube channel (Bike Rider TV) and social platforms, responding to the way riders now consume content. The result is more frequent updates, faster reporting from launches and events, and deeper coverage through video, photography and long-form reviews.
BRM publisher Paul says the decision to move fully online was a necessary and carefully planned step.
“Print has been an incredible part of BRM’s story ever since Glen Rangiuia first started making BRM in his home office. And we’re proud of every issue we’ve produced. But the reality is that the cost to produce the magazine – printing, postage, etc. – just became too much to keep it viable. Also, riders now want content instantly — on their phones, tablets and laptops. A magazine, while nice to have, just doesn’t keep pace with the rapidly changing world we live in. Moving fully online allows us to publish more reviews, more tests and more news, more often, without compromising on quality.”
The BRM website is now the home of everything Bike Rider Magazine stands for, including:
First rides and in-depth road tests
New motorcycle and product news
Buying advice and technical explainers
Video reviews and on-bike impressions
NZ-focused racing and industry coverage
For readers, the shift means more content, updated daily, with instant access wherever they are — whether that’s in the garage, at work or planning the next ride.
While the final print issue marks the end of an era, it also signals the next chapter for BRM. The name, the voice and the commitment to trusted motorcycle journalism remain unchanged — only the format has evolved.
