Ducati has offered the first public look at its upcoming Desmo450 SM, using its 100th anniversary celebrations at World Ducati Week 2026 to unveil a pre-production version of the brand’s first-ever purpose-built supermoto.
The new machine made its debut on stage at the Misano World Circuit during the four-day event, with Ducati confirming that full technical specifications and pricing will be revealed when the motorcycle is officially launched in September.

The Desmo450 SM will become the fifth model in the growing Desmo off-road family. It follows the recent introduction of the Desmo250 MX and Desmo450 Enduro, joining the existing Desmo450 MX and the race-focused Desmo450 MX Factory as the Italian manufacturer continues to expand beyond its traditional road bike line-up.
Although the brand remained tight-lipped about the bike’s technical details, the company confirmed that the Desmo450 SM has been purpose-built specifically for supermoto competition rather than adapted from one of its existing off-road models.
According to Ducati, the motorcycle has already been pre-approved by four-time Supermoto world champion Marc Reiner Schmidt following its first competitive outings. The production model will feature dedicated brakes, suspension, engine components and bodywork developed specifically for the demands of supermoto racing.
The Desmo450 SM was one of the highlights of Ducati’s centenary celebrations at World Ducati Week, where the manufacturer also showcased the limited-edition Superleggera V4 Centenario alongside its new Collezione 100 range.

The Collezione 100 line-up comprises 10 limited-edition motorcycles spanning several of its most popular models, including the Panigale V4, Panigale V2, Multistrada, Monster and Diavel, all created to mark the company’s milestone 100th anniversary.
With its official unveiling just a few months away, the Desmo450 SM signals Ducati’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in off-road and competition-focused segments, adding yet another chapter to the rapidly growing Desmo family.
