- Styling cues from Ducati 750 Super Sport
- Powered by an 803cc Desmodue L-Twin
- Limited to 873 units
Ducati has revealed the Formula 73, a special-edition model that looks firmly to the company’s racing past for inspiration. The bike takes its visual cues from the legendary Ducati 750 Super Sport, a machine closely associated with Ducati’s breakthrough win at the Imola 200.

Visually, the Formula 73 leans heavily into that heritage. The silver and aqua-green paint scheme is accented by a gold stripe running vertically over the fuel tank- a nod to the original Imola racer, where a similar strip acted as a quick fuel-level reference during competition. The riding position follows classic café racer principles, with low clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors and a compact front fairing. A short, pared-back tail section keeps the profile clean and purposeful.
Traditional spoked wheels reinforce the retro theme and are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, blending classic looks with modern grip. Ducati’s signature trellis frame remains clearly visible, maintaining a design element that has long defined the brand’s road bikes.

At the heart of the Formula 73 sits Ducati’s air-cooled 803cc Desmodue L-twin engine. It delivers 73hp at 8,250rpm and 65.2Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. A Termignoni-developed exhaust system comes as standard, promising a sharper exhaust note to match the bike’s sporting roots.
Despite its throwback styling, the Formula 73 is equipped with contemporary electronics. The package includes cornering ABS, traction control and Ducati Quick Shift for clutchless gear changes in both directions. Riders can choose between two riding modes to adjust throttle response and intervention levels. Full-LED lighting and a TFT display round out the modern touches.

Production will be limited to 873 individually numbered units worldwide. Each example will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity, along with collector-focused packaging that includes original design sketches from Ducati’s Style Centre, positioning the model as a tribute piece rather than a standard production offering.
