BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new limited-period Dark edition of the R 1300 GS Adventure in France. The distinctive visual treatment it has received has caught our attention. The motorcycle will be available to buy until 30 June, 2026, in France.
As the name suggests, the Dark edition of the motorcycle is completely, well, dark! It includes a Triple Black style with black spoked wheels, heated rider and passenger seats, a high-tinted windshield, tinted deflectors, black-painted scoops on the tank, and an alarm. It gets all the niceties from the standard model, including Dynamic Cruise Control as standard, as well as other features such as Dynamic Traction Control, ABS, four riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road, Enduro), heated grips, and additional LED spotlights.

The BMW R 1300 GS is one of the most versatile full-size adventure motorcycles one can buy globally. And the Adventure version adds more componentry to the mix to make it more suitable for long hauls. It sports a boxy styling with a large 30-litre fuel tank. Powering the bike is a 1,300cc, boxer-twin motor that puts out 145bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 149Nm at 6,500rpm. It is paired with a six-speed transmission.
As for the hardware, it has a metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame. Suspension duties are handled by BMW’s Telelever and Paralever EVO suspension. The setup can be electronically adjusted, and Dynamic Suspension Adjustment comes as standard.
