BMW R1300 GS Puig Pista kit unveiled

  • Based on the standard R1300 GS
  • Offers significant changes to form and function
  • No pricing or launch timeline yet
BMW R1300 GS

With the Pista kit, the R1300 GS not only looks different and sporty but adds to the function too. The front end is the most radical housing what looks like a huge fuel tank. The rear end, with the seat cowl and sans the number plate holder looks stubby. Your eyes would also lead you to the large brake cooling ducts that is finished in yellow like the rest of the bike’s lower bodywork. It also has a belly pan, lower spoiler, and deflectors on the side (that can be opened or closed) for better ventilation. It also comes with a new windscreen unit that is made by Puig. That said, the entire kit’s purpose does seem aesthetically similar to what BMW already sells in the form of the M1000XR.

Well, the R1300 GS with the Puig Pista kit now runs on smaller wheels. These units are sourced from Rotobox, made from carbon and are wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres. Even the brakes have been changed. It uses bigger 320mm Galfer disc brakes at the front. While the 143bhp and 149Nm producing 1300cc, boxer-twin engine remains the same, the bike has gained an Arrow exhaust for better symphony. Interestingly though, these parts on the special BMW R1300 GS are available from their individual manufacturers. However, the exclusive Puig Pista kit isn’t available for sale yet and is expected to be in the next couple of months.
