BMW Motorrad has teased a new sports bike based on its F 450 platform, confirming that the motorcycle will be unveiled on 15 October 2026. Likely to be called the BMW F 450 RR, it will become the third model in the manufacturer’s new 450cc family, following the F 450 GS and the recently unveiled F 450 R.
The teaser suggests an aggressive design inspired by the flagship BMW S 1000 RR. The motorcycle appears to feature winglets, giving it a sportier appearance, much like the F 450 R draws styling inspiration from the naked S 1000 R.
While the full specifications remain under wraps, the F 450 RR is expected to share several mechanical components with the F 450 R. These could include 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, wheel-mounted brake discs and TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. The extent of the changes to the chassis and suspension is yet to be confirmed.
The new sports bike could also carry over the F 450 R’s 6.5-inch TFT display, along with multiple riding modes, traction control and a quickshifter. BMW may offer the F 450 RR in different variants with varying equipment levels, potentially including its Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) system and adjustable suspension on higher-spec versions.
Power is expected to come from the same 420cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine used in the F 450 R. It produces 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm, placing it within the A2 licence-friendly power limit. The BMW F 450 RR is expected to compete with the Aprilia Tuono 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500. More details about its final design, equipment and specifications should emerge at the official unveiling on 15 October.
