- Altherm Window Systems and Josh Coppins Racing will end their partnership in September after 14 years together.
- The partnership produced one World Championship, two Australian Championships and 16 NZ national titles.
- JCR will continue, with its 2026/27 riders and event programme to be announced in early September.
The hugely successful partnership has helped develop some of New Zealand’s biggest motocross stars and delivered championships at world, Australian and New Zealand level.

One of New Zealand motocross racing’s longest-running partnerships is coming to an end, with Altherm Window Systems and Josh Coppins Racing mutually concluding their relationship in September after 14 years together.
Altherm Window Systems and Josh Coppins Racing (JCR) Yamaha will end their long-running partnership in September, bringing to a close a relationship that has helped support some of New Zealand’s biggest motocross talents.
The partnership began in 2012, with Altherm becoming much more than simply a title sponsor of the JCR Yamaha operation during the following 14 years.

During that time, riders competing under the Altherm JCR Yamaha banner have collected one World Championship, two Australian Championships and 16 New Zealand national championships.
Among the riders to benefit from the programme are Jay Wilson, Courtney Duncan, Maximus Purvis, Cole Davies, Levi Townley, James Scott and Hayden Draper.
Wilson claimed New Zealand and Australian MX2 titles with the team, while Duncan was supported during her rise towards becoming a four-time Women’s World Motocross Champion.
More recently, JCR has played a role in the development of Cole Davies, who became the 2026 AMA 250SX East Champion and is now one of New Zealand’s leading international motocross prospects.

Levi Townley also made history by becoming an 85cc Junior World Champion and is currently competing in the EMX125 championship in Europe, while current JCR riders James Scott and Hayden Draper have also collected major national titles.
Team Manager Josh Coppins says the longevity of the relationship has been an important part of the team’s success.
“Fourteen years seems like a long time but it’s amazing how quickly time passes when you are building something special,” Coppins said.
“In racing, success is not built overnight, it’s built through standing beside each other season after season.

“Altherm Window Systems has always been far more than a title sponsor. They have been part of our team and part of our family. Together, we have watched young riders chase and achieve their dreams.”
While the championship success has been considerable, Coppins believes the partnership’s biggest contribution has been the opportunities it has created for young riders.
“For us, the real legacy is not measured in trophies. It’s measured in the riders who were given opportunities to chase their dreams. It’s in the friendships built; the lessons learned; memories shared and the family we have become.”
“The name on the Yamaha motorcycles may change but the legacy you’ve helped to build will remain forever.”
The partnership’s impact also extended beyond JCR’s professional racing programme.

Altherm supported the team’s ‘Dream Big’ school visits and MX Masterclasses, which gave hundreds of young riders the opportunity to receive coaching from the JCR team.
Coppins says at least eight motorcycles were also given away to aspiring young racers during the 14-year partnership, while Altherm distributors and staff participated in Yamaha dealer activations and bLUcRU kids’ camps.
“I can’t say enough about the company,” Coppins added. “Really good people, with good values that have always been super aligned with our values and what we wanted to achieve.”
APL Window Systems Marketing and Communications Sponsorship and Events Specialist Jaimee McIntosh wished Coppins, his wife Amy and the wider JCR operation success as the team enters its next chapter.
“It has been a real pleasure working with you, following the team’s journey, getting to know you, and learning more about the sport along the way,” McIntosh said.
The end of the Altherm partnership does not mean the end of JCR.
The team says it is looking ahead to the coming motocross season and will make an announcement at the beginning of September detailing its 2026/27 rider line-up and event calendar.
