Norton V4SV, V4CR and Commando 961 discontinued

  • To be replaced by new models
  • Likely to be showcased at 2025 EICMA

Norton Motorcycles has confirmed that production of the V4SV, V4CR and Commando 961 will come to an end, clearing the way for an all-new range of models.

The announcement marks the first major shift in Norton’s line-up since the company was acquired by TVS Motor Company in 2020. The new bikes are expected to be unveiled at EICMA in November, marking the beginning of what the firm describes as “the next chapter” in its history. “The Norton V4SV, V4CR and Commando 961 are revered the world over as the latest in a long line of iconic Norton motorcycles,” said Executive Director Richard Arnold. “As one chapter ends, another begins, and the waiting is now almost over to reveal our exciting future.”

Each of the outgoing models represents a distinct corner of Norton’s offering. The V4CR café racer has been on sale since 2023. The V4SV sportsbike was introduced in 2022, while the Commando 961 was the firm’s retro-inspired option, launched in 2023. A handful of end-of-production units will still be made available to collectors.

Naturally, the question now turns to what replaces them. Norton has previously committed to launching six all-new models within three years, with the first expected in the coming months. We can expect the rest of the models to be showcased globally at the EICMA 2025 in Italy.
