- Trademarks filed in global markets
- Could be a small-capacity motorcycle
- Likely launch in early 2026
A legendary name from Norton’s rich past is poised to make a comeback. Recent regulatory filings in international markets suggest that the British motorcycle marque, now owned by TVS Motor Company, is preparing to launch a new motorcycle called the Norton Electra, possibly by late 2025 or early 2026.
The Electra name first appeared in the 1960s as part of Norton’s mid-capacity lineup, alongside the Jubilee (250cc, 16bhp) and Navigator (350cc, 22bhp) models. Though details remain under wraps, the revived Electra could signal a return to this segment, especially as Norton continues its strategy of resurrecting heritage names for modern models.
While the current filings mention only the Electra, speculation is growing that Norton may also be working on modern interpretations of the Jubilee and Navigator, with announcements expected between 2025 and 2026. This aligns with Norton’s trend of tapping into its vintage catalogue to lend authenticity to its new offerings.

The name “Electra” has sparked conversations about the bike potentially being electric, especially as the industry continues shifting toward cleaner alternatives. However, neither Norton nor TVS has made major strides in the electric motorcycle space to date. The only electric product in the TVS lineup is the iQube, a step-through scooter available with 2.2kWh and 3.4kWh battery options.
Given Norton’s premium positioning, it’s unlikely that its first electric motorcycle, if the Electra turns out to be one, would be a budget-friendly commuter. Instead, it could be something far more aspirational. Still, for now, that remains speculative.
While specifics about engine configurations, design, or target market remain unconfirmed, all signs suggest Norton is gearing up for a product expansion in the small- and mid-capacity segments. These bikes would potentially offer more accessible entry points into the brand, especially in markets like India and Southeast Asia where such models dominate.
With the end of 2025 just around the corner, more concrete details are likely to emerge soon. For now, the return of the Electra name marks an exciting new chapter in Norton’s modern revival.
