Buell Freedom Edition Hammerhead 1190 breaks cover

  • Special-edition limited to the USA
  • Gets a 1190cc V-twin engine
  • No word about brand’s global launch

Buell, the iconic motorcycle manufacturer, has made its comeback in select markets like the United Kingdom and the USA. Now, it has unveiled a special called the Freedom Edition Hammerhead 1190 with limited availability.

The motorcycle, based on the brand’s flagship Hammerhead 1190, gets a livery that is derived from the American flag for the Stars and Stripes look. It would remind one of the Honda CBR1000RR-R’s paint scheme too. However, the Buell comes with subtle star graphics on its bodywork.

Then there is the aggressive design with the triple side fairing air flow intakes. Its bodywork is fully carbon fiber with the front suspension being big piston forks sourced from Showa. On the other hand, the rear is a single shock without linkage set-up, also from Showa.

Braking duties are taken care of by a 386mm, single perimeter disc and an eight-piston inside-out caliper for the front. The Buell Freedom Edition Hammerhead 1190 uses a 220mm disc at the rear with a two-piston Hayes Performance caliper.

While the brand is back in action, it has not revealed about expanding to other markets like Australia and New Zealand yet.
