BMW Motorrad unveiled the F450 GS at last year’s EICMA in Italy, taking the motorcycle industry by storm in a space that has been gaining traction in recent years. Now, new reports suggest that the middleweight adventure motorcycle is likely to be offered in manual and semi-automatic gearbox options.
So, there would be a conventional transmission for the traditional users, while the semi-automatic option is meant to cater to newer and younger riders for more accessibility. This would be a sort of ASA (Automated Shift Assistant) tech, that is expected to be slightly different than the bigger flagship models from BMW.
Other than this, the German brand has also confirmed that the F450 GS would come with rider modes and an optional quickshifter amongst other features. And keeping it in line with the BMW R1300 GS, it will ride on a 19/17-inch wheel combination. Powering the ADV is a new 450cc, parallel-twin engine with 47.3bhp, while the motorcycle weighs 175kg.
This engine will also spawn other variants like a naked roadster and a sportier model. The pricing for the upcoming BMW F450 GS is yet to be known, but we can expect the semi-automatic version to cost a premium over the conventional gearbox option.
