New Triumph Scrambler 400 XC finally revealed!

Triumph Motorcycles has finally launched the Scrambler 400 XC overseas. The bike was spotted testing on multiple occasions and the production version does not disappoint, especially if you are looking for an entry-level off-road motorcycle.

Now, the XC is based on the standard Scrambler 400 X. However, it does get some upgrades that make it more off-road capable. One of the most notable upgrades on the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is the introduction of tubeless cross-spoke wheels, which not only enhance its off-road-ready look but also offer greater durability and make puncture repairs much simpler, eliminating the need to remove the tyre.

Unlike the 400 X, Triumph has introduced an entirely fresh colour palette for the Scrambler 400 XC. It comes in three striking new shades—Racing Yellow, Vanilla White, and Granite—each featuring sporty speed-block graphics. The Racing Yellow option is especially eye-catching and bold, while the Vanilla White and Granite tones offer a more refined, subtle appeal.

Though the overall styling remains closely aligned with the 400 X, the XC stands apart thanks to its colour-matched beak fender and standard windscreen, both of which contribute to its rugged appearance. Practical add-ons such as an aluminium bash plate and robust engine guards with lower protection bars give the bike added off-road credibility.

Under the tank, the Scrambler 400 XC uses the same 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as its sibling. This motor delivers 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed transmission. Notably, this engine is reported to offer smoother performance than that of the KTM 390 Adventure or Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. In terms of equipment, the XC comes loaded with features including full LED lighting, traction control, switchable ABS, and a slipper-assist clutch, making it both capable and rider-friendly on and off the road.

We can expect Triumph Motorcycles to introduce the Scrambler 400 XC in Australia and New Zealand by the end of the year with a pricing slightly higher than the the 400 X that costs $8,995.
