Chinese-owned Italian brand Benelli has made its way into the bobber segment with the new Leoncino 400 Bobber. The motorcycle will go on sale in China and Europe soon and is expected to make its way to New Zealand by mid-2025.
While the Leoncino name has always been associated with street scramblers, the Bobber is a welcome entrant. However, it serves as a bridge between the Leoncino 125 and 500, with a completely different attire. The design is unmistakable Harley-Davidson Fat Bob-inspired and lends a brute stance to the 400 Bobber.
Powering the motorcycle is a 400cc, 60-degree, V-twin motor that churns out 25bhp with peak torque coming in at 4500rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a belt drive that sends power to the rear wheel. Benelli has fitted the 400 Bobber with USD forks and twin shocks at the rear while suspension travel is a mere 100mm at the front and 125mm at the rear.
That said, the Benelli Leoncino 400 Bobber offers an accessible seat height of 730mm and weighs 180kg. The list of features includes LED lighting, ABS and a Bluetooth-enabled circular TFT screen with heaps of ride information.
