When those outside the world of motorcycling hear the name Carl Cox, their first thought is often of one of the world’s most recognised and established DJ’s who regularly headlines some of the biggest music festivals around the globe.

Motorcyclists however, might be surprised to know about the music connection, recognising Carl as one of the most enthusiastic motorsport fans ever. Over the last few years, he has taken an active involvement in the promotion and development of many various teams through different disciplines of motor racing, establishing the international brand known as Carl Cox Motorsport.

New Zealand has become one of the main destinations for Carl and his motorsport passion –who’s legendary name already supports local road race sidecar teams, super-bike stars and the next generation of rising talent, with the leading development 250cc motorcycle series, the Hyosung Cup.

Further cementing the relationship with New Zealand, Carl Cox Motorsport has recently become an official partner with Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park in Taupo.

Already one of the country’s premier motorsport facilities, the circuit will benefit from the association with Carl and his team in terms of continual development and the hosting of the nation’s leading circuit-race events.

According to Bruce McLaren Motorsport park representative Tony Walker:

Tony Walker

“Carl Cox Motorsport has chosen Taupo as a central part of Carl’s activities in motorsport in New Zealand. Carl’s interest in motorcycles is well known and of course, Taupo is a top motorcycle venue both from a rider and spectator point of view.  Carl’s involvement will see us add introductory bike days, tuition and training initiatives for young riders and the hosting of other events still in the planning stages. We think this initiative is just what motorsport – and particularly motorcycle sport – in New Zealand needs.”

“The opportunity to become involved in such a brilliant motorsport venue as Bruce McLaren Motorsport park is simply amazing, the man himself, Carl Cox said.

“The circuit offers a great experience for all levels of racers and spectators and we’re looking forward to being part of helping the track continue to keep New Zealand Motorsport at the top level. I’ll be visiting New Zealand at every opportunity to get a few laps in!”
