Rossi Declared Fit to Ride at Mugello

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’ have announced that Valentino Rossi has been declared fit to participate in this weekend’s Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley.

Overnight the nine-time World Champion underwent a routine medical check-up at the Autodromo del Mugello.

Rossi fans can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that FIM Medical Director, Dr Giancarlo Di Filippo, the Chief Medical Officer of the Mugello Circuit, Dr Remo Barbagli and the MotoGP Medical Director, Dr Angel Charte have all concluded that Rossi to be in a suitable condition to take part in his home Grand Prix.

Rossi currently sits at third in the championship standings with 62 points after five rounds, behind Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa (68 points) and teammate Maverick Viñales who leads the championship with 85 points.

Qualifying for Monday morning’s race starts Saturday night (NZ time) at 11.30pm, with the MotoGP Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley race taking place at midnight Sunday/Monday.
