After an excellent start to the year, BMW Motorrad has grown continuously and steadily to mark a new record in May sales.

In May, 17,578 motorcycles and maxi-scooters were delivered to customers worldwide, an increase of 15.8 per cent compared with the same month last year. In the first five months of the year, sales at BMW Motorrad were up by 8.2 per cent (71,129).

This followed BMWs best start to date the new motorcycle season to date with a solid growth of 5.5 per cent in the first three months of 2017, in which 35,636 motorcycles and maxi scooters were delivered to customers.

Within the BMW Motorrad model line-up, the highly expanded R nineT family has continued to contribute decisively to this growth, alongside high demand for the GS models. Add to that the new entry-level G 310 R model that will also soon be expanded on with a GS version with rumours of even more versions based on the 310 R in the works and the Northern Hemisphere’s riding season ramping up, and 2017 could be the best year ever for BMW Motorrad.
