Keith Amor Announces Retirement

TT racer calls it quites

Keith Amor, the Isle of Man TT star, announced on Thursday the 26th of January that he will now retire from road racing, making this statement on Twitter “Unfortunately after visiting my surgeon yesterday my worst fears came true, I need more surgery so I have decided to retire from racing.” The Scot, who is 40 later this year, had originally injured his shoulder in a crash at Quarterbridge in practice and again in a race which should never have been started on treacherously sodden conditions - the second Supersport TT, going pear-shaped at Union Mills.

Amor did still more damage to his compromised shoulder at the 2011 Ulster GP.

Amor has been well liked at the IOMTT and finished second during the first race of the 2011Supersport TT. As well as five podiums at the Isle of Man TT to his name. Amor won the North West 200 Superstock race and the Supersport race at  Ulster in 2010. Amor has been with the Honda TT Legends team this year alongside the legendary John McGuiness.

Amor is expecting a son too this year, and will want to be well to support his partner through that.
