Rumor and Speculation around Yamaha Riders Futures

Will there be a switcharoo?

Word is circulating that Yamaha may move their WSBK current points leader, Ben Spies, to MotoGP for 2010 - a year earlier than Yamaha previously stated. This move would apparently see Spies join fellow Texan Colin Edwards in the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad.

James Toseland, who has rumored to have lost his MotoGP ride will most likely rejoin the WSBK championship, where he has previously won two world championship crowns. Toseland, ranked 13th in the points is currently Yamahas worst-performing rider in the MotoGP paddock.

The parties involved are so far silent on the matter, but expect to see an update on www.brm.co.nz once the rumors are either confirmed or proved unfounded.

More rumor update:
It appears Yamaha Racing are awaiting the outcomes of a few more races before locking in their plans for Spies and Toseland for 2010. Yamaha are pinning hopes on a victorious season for Spies, and are almost certainly going to drop Toseland from their satellite Tech 3 team.
Another, somewhat less likely scenario could be a swap between Toseland and Tom Sykes - leaving Spies in as a dominant contender for 2010 with another new dominant Yamaha rival in James Toseland. This would see Yamaha with possibly two top riders in each arena and an up-and-coming developing rider in Sykes alongside Colin Edwards. However this is all rumor and speculation and we will no doubt see a cunning plan unfold when Yamaha finally sets things in concrete for next season.
