Rossi bruised but not seriously

injured after motocross accident

The Fiat Yamaha rider suffered no serious injuries in the training fall on Thursday near Pesaroand will take part in the Grand Prix of Japan next weekend.

At first the reigning World Champion did not feel any discomfort, but on Friday morning some pain in his back meant that Rossi opted to have a medical check-up.

An X-Ray confirmed that the 31 year-old Italian had sustained some bruising, but also ruled out any injuries that would prevent him from riding in the Grand Prix of Japan, to be held at the Motegi circuit from April 23rd-25th.

(No doubt there will be someone at Yamaha's racing HQ suggesting some safer training, and perhaps a protective layer of cotton wool, for their top riders after their recent off-track record! - BRM)
